Paid Parking in Healthcare Is Standard Practice
94% of NHS hospitals already charge for parking. If your site still offers it free to everyone, that revenue is lost. Artemis™, our purpose-built technology, tells private patients and NHS referrals apart automatically, so nothing slips through.
Any Size. Private or NHS. Fully Managed.
Common Car Park Challenges We Solve
Hard to Prove at the Gate
Private patients and members have already paid for parking as part of their care. Checking this manually at reception or a barrier increases workload and creates unnecessary friction.
Telling Patients Apart
Private patients and NHS referrals aren't the same, but blanket free parking treats them as if they are. Without a way to separate the two, everyone gets the same deal, whether they've already paid or not.
Lost Revenue
Every visitor who parks free is income you're not collecting. NHS trusts made £145.8 million from parking in 2022/23 alone, up over 50% year on year. Turning that free parking into revenue is the real challenge.
How Park365 Solves These Challenges
ANPR Enforcement
Tells Patients Apart, Automatically
Artemis™ is Park365’s purpose-built platform, designed to manage exactly this distinction automatically and fairly. No member of staff has to check who’s who at the gate, and no patient has to prove anything on arrival. It simply recognises each vehicle and applies the right rule.
- Private patients and members recognised automatically, parking already included in what they’ve paid for
- NHS-referred patients and general visitors charged fairly, in line with standard NHS practice
- Fully flexible tiers, from entirely free to a reduced rate for private members
- No barriers, tickets, or reception staff needed to manage any of it
IPC Approved
Enforcement That Protects Patient Trust, Not Just Your Spaces
Aggressive or inconsistent enforcement can damage your reputation with patients and visitors. As an IPC approved operator, every action we take is fair, consistent and fully compliant, built for a healthcare setting where trust matters as much as protection.
- IPC approved operator
- Ethical, code-of-practice compliant enforcement
- Protects your reputation with patients, not just your spaces
Income Generation

- No upfront cost, no financial risk
- Transparent management fee on paid parking revenue
- Contract terms across 1, 3, 5 and 10 years
- ParkShare Plus™ adds a contractually guaranteed share of enforcement income, on top of paid parking revenue
Fully Managed
We Handle the Tariffs, the Queries and the Admin, Not You
Managing patient and visitor access yourself means juggling whitelists, driver queries, appeals and day-to-day admin. We take all of it off your hands, with a dedicated account manager who understands healthcare settings, so your time goes back into running your site.
- Dedicated customer service and account management
- Regular performance reports and transparent revenue statements
- No driver queries or appeals landing on your desk
Space Availability
Spaces Kept Available for the Patients Who Need Them
Without proper management, spaces meant for paying patients and members can end up taken by visitors who were never charged in the first place. Once Artemis™ is managing access, private patients get consistent, guaranteed availability, and everyone else is accounted for fairly.
- Reliable space availability for private patients and members
- Fewer visitors overstaying or parking without paying
- A better first impression from the moment patients arrive
- Supports patient retention and satisfaction

Unauthorised Parking, Solved
Car Park Management FAQs
Isn't it unfair to charge NHS-referred patients or visitors for parking?
No. 94% of NHS hospitals already charge visitors and non-exempt patients for parking, so this isn’t new to them. Private patients and members continue under whatever terms you choose, entirely separately.
Can I offer free parking to patients or members but charge everyone else?
Yes. Patients and members are whitelisted for free or reduced-rate access, and anyone not on the list is automatically charged under your chosen tariff.
How does the system know who to charge?
Every registered vehicle is checked automatically against your whitelist the moment it’s detected by camera. Anyone not on the list is treated as a paying visitor.
Is this appropriate for a healthcare setting?
Yes. Park365 is an IPC approved operator, and all enforcement is fair, consistent and compliant, designed to protect your reputation with patients as well as your spaces.
Does it cost anything to get started?
No. Park365 covers installation. 95% of the sites we manage run at no cost, contractually guaranteed. Some sites carry a small management fee depending on contract length or site size, always explained during your free survey.
Can private members get a discount rather than free parking?
Yes. Tariffs are fully flexible — some sites choose entirely free parking for private members, others a reduced concessionary rate, mirroring the approach many NHS sites already take with their own concessions. This is agreed during your free survey.
What about visitors who just need to drop off or collect a patient?
A standard consideration period applies before any charge is triggered, and grace periods can be tailored to your site’s needs during your free survey.
